Venus: Soft Harmony

The image of the Venusian Goddess is a symbol deeply rooted in our collective consciousness.

She is often depicted with a mirror, reflecting back to us our deepest desires for love and harmony with our body and the world around us.

Venus teaches us the art of softening— as an embrace of our innate capacity for love, connection, and growth.

In my astro herbal journey’s, I've come to see her plant and food guardians as mentors in understanding how to do the task of nourishing and enjoying.

First, the softening reminds us that before we can fully accept love, or anything really, we must first find a way to accept it from ourselves. And to get there, Venus helps us understand our emotional defenses as well as our physical and energetic ones.

Venus helps us recognize that accepting love, connection, and nourishment from others is as important as giving it. This softening and opening increases our ability to absorb and benefit from the care offered by others, the food we eat, and the beauty of this life.

Venus and the Body

Venus rules over the parts of the body that need to be soft and receptive in order to receive nourishment, as well as the movement of fluids in the body that nourish us.

  • She plays a pivotal role in our reproductive health, symbolizing fertility and the very essence of creation.

  • She also rules the kidneys and urinary system, crucial in maintaining our body's fluid balance and overall internal harmony.

  • Even our ability to express, symbolized by the throat and vocal cords, falls under Venus's gentle rule.

  • And let's not forget the skin, Venus's canvas, which reflects our inner health and beauty outwardly.
