Ingredients

  • 2 Fresh ginger Rhizome

  • 1/2 cup of dried Honeysuckle buds

  • 1 cup of Raw Honey

Instructions

  • Clean the ginger rhizome thoroughly and peel off the skin.

  • Grate or finely chop the ginger into small pieces.

  • Place the ginger and dried honeysuckle flowers in a clean, sterilized glass jar.

  • Pour honey over the ginger and honeysuckle, ensuring that all the ingredients are fully submerged.

  • Transfer the infused honey into a clean, sterilized jar for storage.

Infused Honey

Infused honey has been used for centuries as a way to extract the therapeutic qualities of herbs and botanicals and preserve them in a sweet and easily consumable form. Honey, with its natural preservative properties, acts as a medium to extract and infuse the beneficial compounds from various plants. Traditionally, ginger and honeysuckle infused honey has been used for:

  • Digestive issues: Ginger is well-known for its ability to aid digestion. Ginger-infused honey may help relieve symptoms such as indigestion, bloating, gas, and nausea. It is often used as a natural remedy for motion sickness and morning sickness during pregnancy.

  • Sore throat and cough: Ginger has antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties that can help soothe a sore throat and alleviate coughing. Combining ginger with honey provides a soothing effect and may provide temporary relief.

  • Cold and flu symptoms: Can be used as a natural remedy to ease symptoms of the common cold and flu. Ginger helps to stimulate circulation and has a warming effect, which may help alleviate congestion, reduce fever, and support the immune system.

  • Inflammation: May help reduce inflammation in the body, which can be beneficial for conditions such as arthritis, muscle pain, and joint stiffness.

  • Menstrual cramps: May help to reduce inflammation and alleviate discomfort during menstruation.

  • Respiratory health: Has expectorant properties, which means it may help to loosen mucus and phlegm. Can be soothing for respiratory conditions such as bronchitis, asthma, and allergies. Both ginger and honeysuckle have been used to support respiratory health. Ginger's warming properties and honeysuckle's traditional use in Chinese medicine for respiratory conditions make the infused honey potentially beneficial for coughs, colds, sore throat, and congestion

  • Immune support: Ginger and honeysuckle both possess immune-boosting properties. They may help strengthen the immune system and support its function, potentially reducing the frequency and severity of common illnesses. This honey can be consumed as a general immune booster, especially during cold and flu seasons.

It's important to note that while infused honey can offer potential benefits, it is not a replacement for professional medical advice. If you have specific health concerns, it's always best to consult with a healthcare professional.
